In early October I was a visiting art in the Printmaking Area at the Ohio University School of Fine Art + Design. We did a lot of printing in preparation for The Honey For the Heart parade that took place on October 26th. The prints were repurposed to be made in to masks, costumes and puppets. Lots of hard work by the students and faculty. Thanks to Art Werger and Karla Hackenmiller for hosting me. While there I got to meet and hangout with the masterminds behind the Honey For the Heart parade Patty Mitchell and Robert Lockheed. Also got to meet Minneapolis puppet maker extraordinaire Daniel Polnau. These folks know how to put on a parade – fantastic!!! Super happy to be included.

I’ve got a few images in the GRAPHIC; Drawings & Prints show at FRANK Gallery in Chapel Hill, NC. Here’s an example of one of the screenprint and ink images that I’ve been making – 3 of them are in the show. Exhibit runs from May 6 – July 5.
“This video, created by Harrison Moenich, shows the process of making REFLECTIONS, an original 2,500 square foot screen printed collage created by a team of printmakers/volunteers over the course of five months in 2013. Inspired by our 50th anniversary and led by artist Bill Fick, this group of artists created a screen printed collage for the True F. Luck Gallery that celebrates the many people, places, materials, and milestones that have shaped our community art center over the past 50 years.”
Big Thanks to Caroline Wright!
Earlier this month I was in the Charm City (Baltimore) working at Brian Garner’s Lithoshop. Brian and crew did a fantastic job printing up all the new editions and posters. Check out Brian’s Tumblr to see more pics. Our good buddy Calvin Custin put together this sweet little video of the opening party.
If you happen to be in Baltimore on October 23rd come check out the party at Litho Shop. New prints, posters and shirts will be available.
These images can be seen in a show I curated called Outlaws and Wild Animals at Rebus Works in Raleigh. The show will be up through July 25th.
Technique used: linocut (black ink) and white gesso on chip board.
