On November 3rd I visited the School of Visual Arts (SVA) Printmaking area and spread the good word about linocut printmaking. They’ve got a really impressive setup there. Thanks to Dom Rapone for inviting me.
Had a fantastic trip to Ohio State University earlier this month. Got to work with a dynamic group of printmaking students and their professor Sergio Soave. Sergio and I have known each other for many years going back to a visiting gig I did at West Virginia University in the 90’s. Thanks to Adam, Allison and Sarah of the Student Printmaking Association for being such excellent hosts. Below are images of a print mural we made. 120 linocut prints, measuring 9′ x 60′. I also visited Ohio University. More about that soon.
I’ve recently installed a mural at Greenhill Gallery in Greensboro, NC. Its part of the ANIMATED! exhibit that will be up from September 6 – November 9. Here’s a stop-motion video of the work in progress.
Here’s some good press about Fick and Supergraphic in The Durham News. Thanks to Deborah Meyer for the article and Harry Lynch for the photos.

6 Pigbat prints were recently on view at the Weatherspoon Art Museum in Greensboro, NC. as part of the biennial Art on Paper show. Very cool to see them side by side and stacked up to about 10 feet tall. These hand-colored screen prints were made at Artists Image Resource (AIR) in Pittsburgh in 2010.
Here’s a short documentary by Ayanna Seals and Frith Gowan about my interest in making monster images. The piece was made during a summer workshop taught by Jim Haverkamp at The Center for Documentary Studies in Durham, NC.
